In addition, he initiated the establishment of charity organizations in Malaysia, which he named Vijayaratnam Foundation after his father. In 2011, he was recognized as the Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy, a list that included 48 philanthropists from 12 nations who were celebrated as business leaders and as noble private citizens.
