IAP Worldwide (IAP) is an international logistics company that was founded in 1990. IAP’s beginning was humble with a contract to provide generator supplies to the U.S. Army in Saudi Arabia. But today IAP has grown into a full-scale international logistics company that serves the U.S. Government, many foreign governments, and the private sector with a wide range of logistics-oriented supplies and services.
Recently IAP was awarded two major U.S. military contracts that are very important to the nation’s defense.
U.S. Army Distributed Common Ground System Contract:
In October 2016 IAP added to its portfolio of U.S. Government contracts when it was selected to provide support for the U.S. Army Distributed Common Ground System. IAP Worldwide will be providing logistics, fielding, and training support services for the project which is based at Fort Hood Texas as well as at other installations worldwide.
The Distributed Common Ground System provides field commanders with timely data on intelligence and surveillance information regarding operational environments, and weather and terrain conditions. The ultimate goal of the system is to allow field units to better track, capture and stop enemy forces.
IAP will be providing services related to hardware systems engineering and data processing, system networking, training, and warehouse services. IAP’s contract is valued at $53 million.
U.S. Navy Global Contingency Services Contract:
IAP also added a major addition to its U.S. military contract portfolio when the Navy selected IAP as one of only five contractors to be awarded the Global Contingency Services Contract. This contract is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract that is potentially valued up to $900 million.
The Navy uses the Global Contingency Services contract as a vehicle to obtain facility support services for natural disasters, military actions, and unforeseen humanitarian efforts that occur throughout the world. This contract can also be used to obtain services following a contractor nonperformance or during breaks in services, such as during a contract protest.
Under the contract, IAP Worldwide will provide the Navy with facility support and incidental construction services. IAP has extensive experience with contingency services contracts having previously provided similar services to the Air Force, and Navy.
From its humble beginnings to its most recent contracts, IAP Worldwide Services has become a government contractor that the U.S. military relies upon to help defend the United States.
