History of the Dorchester Collection
The Dorchester Collection was established in 2006, as a way to manage a number of luxury hotels. These hotels are either completely owned or part-owned and managed for third party owners. The Dorchester Collection is owned by the Dorchester Group Limited, whic was created in 1996 and originally known as the Audley group. The group was originally established by the Brunei Investment Agency in 1991 after acquiring two hotels – The Dorchester Hotel and The Beverly Hills Hotel – as an easy way to manage and maintain them.
Location of The Dorchester Collection Hotels
Hotels managed under the Dorchester Collection are located all over the world. There are three hotels in the United Kingdom, namely The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane and Coworth Park. 45 Park Lane is the smallest hotel in the collection hosting just over 45 rooms in its location.
The United States has two hotels – the originally acquired Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air, acquired in 2008.
Other hotels include the Le Meurice and The Plaza Athénée in France, both of which are officially considered Palaces, the Le Richemond in Geneva, Hotel Principe di Savoia and Hotel Eden in Geneva.
Popular Spas and Restaurants
There are a number of restaurants located at The Hotel, most popularly Alan Ducasse which is located at The Dorchester, Le Meurice and The Plaza Athénée. Other award winning restaurants include China Tang, located in the Dorchester, Wolfgang Puck, Cut and Polo Lounge.
Each hotel also features its own spa where guests can enjoy individual and couple massages, therapies and facials.
