Disney remakes are taking over movie theatres and social media. It seems to be all that anyone can talk about. After all, many of us grew up watching the animated Disney flicks in the theatres or at home on VHS. It’s truly a symbol of childhood. Now, many of us are adults and still want to enjoy watching those movies. That’s why so many adults are excited that Disney is reimagining the old flicks. We’ve seen movies such as Maleficent, The Jungle Book, and Cinderella hit the big screen and enjoy much success.
The latest film to follow suit is the Lion King. Of course, it’s up to opinion but this one seems to be the biggest remake out of all of them. According to Reddit, Walt Disney Studios, and Jon Favreau are joining the forces to make this flick happen. Favreau was also the director of The Jungle Book so it’s safe to say that he knows what he’s doing.
The Lion King is one of the biggest grossing films of all times so it’s sure to be a sold-out success in movie theatres across the world when it has its debut. This movie does appear that it will target an older audience, much like all the other Disney remakes. The Lion King doesn’t have a set release date yet so fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet. Before The Lion King debuts, they have Beauty and The Beast to look forward too. That movie is set to hit theatres in 2017.
It’s exciting that these movies are being reimagined. It’s also fun to imagine which ones will be next. They seem to be working their way down the list so who’s to say there won’t be a Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, or any of the other Disney princesses yet. Overall, it’s a great idea. So many fans are left happy and these movies are great money makers.
