Animated Ghost In The Shell To Return To Theaters

Ghost in the Shell is being adapted into a live action film starring Scarlett Johansson. This has brought about a lot of interest in the manga. Also, there are plans to re-release the original anime of the same name to theaters for a couple of nights. This gives people the chance to experience the film on the big screen. Ghost in the Shell is one of the most talked about anime. Among the different topics that are brought up related to this film is its influence in the sci-fi genre. The Wachowski brothers have used the anime as one of the inspirations behind their film The Matrix.

 

Another topic that was talked about is the film’s fluid animation. When people watch the film, they are able to enjoy animation that is reminiscent of Akira. Another revolutionary film in its time. There have also been talks to adapt Akira to the big screen. However, the anime adaptation was created long before the manga was even finished. A good idea in remaking the film would be to take it in a new direction. The manga is so rich that one could actually make an entirely different movie from the same manga.

 

The original Ghost in the Shell has gone to U.S. theaters on limited release. Almost 10 years later, it would be followed by a sequel known simply as Innocence in Japan. It was released in the U.S. as Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. For the sequel, they have utilized both 2D and CG animation. The characters were 2D animated while the background was CG. Fans will be able to experience their favorite film in theaters whether or not they plan on seeing the live action adaptation as well.
