Pirates Of The Caribbean Franchise Still Leaning On Depp

Posted by admin on

Johnny Depp may have had his faults in the past few years. Various reports have the veteran actor sinking in debt. Depp has been said to lead an extravagant lifestyle outside of his acting career. Despite those issues, The Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise isn’t about to part ways with Depp. The franchise might have quite the opposite in store over the next decade. Depp could be playing the lead role quite a few more times if the latest film is adored by fans.

Depp has portrayed Jack Sparrow in all five Pirates Of The Caribbean films so far. His latest attempt is in the 2017 Dead Men Tell No Tales version. The new franchise could be moving forward with several new tales if the 2017 version fares well financially.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer insists the movie franchise won’t move along without Depp anytime soon. According to Digital Spy, Bruckheimer says he just “doesn’t see” Pirates Of The Caribbean without Depp. That makes sense seeing Depp has always provided that extra comedic relief during every movie.

In the latest adventure, Sparrow searches for the Trident of Poseidon. The film returns Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann as well. Javier Bardem also portrays the villainous Captain Salazar.

Bruckheimer has already hinted there may a sixth edition of the movie. Bruckheimer mentions it will be up to the “fans” as to whether the franchise returns. A good showing financially might propel this franchise into several more attempts.

The first Pirates of the Caribbean was called Curse of the Black Pearl and was released in 2003. It was followed by Dead Man’s Chest in 2007 and the 2008 movie At World’s End. The fourth installment was released in 2011 and was called On Stranger Tides.
