Suicide Squad Actor Discusses Bad Reviews

Suicide Squad’s release featured the proverbial good and the bad. The box office was good and the reviews were bad. Star Joel Kinnaman has gone public on his feelings about fans and detractors.

Kinnaman played Rick Flag in the film, a film that has pulled in over $300 million worldwide in only two weeks. Kinnaman stated he read about two bad reviews and then ceased. He was more interested in hearing positive news from fans who enjoyed the experience of following the adventures of “the worst heroes ever” on the screen.

Suicide Squad definitely was a financial success and a sequel is likely. The negative reviews were massive. Rotten Tomatoes displayed a mere 26% – give or take a percent – positive reviews.

Reportedly, director David Ayer produced a much more serious version of the film. However, when Batman v. Superman opened to horrible reviews, Warner Bros. panicked and opted to recut the film without Ayer’s input. The end result was confusing and a bit jumbled. Hence, the film received a ton of bad reviews.

Kinnaman suggested the expectations on the film were way too high. Some could not help but be disappointed after being hyped up for a brilliant new comic book movie. To a degree, this may be true but the harsh re-editing of the film by the studio did not exactly help the narrative. A confusing narrative does not exactly lead to a great film.

Warner Bros. and D.C. Entertainment positively do have to correct the course these movies are on. If not, then audiences are going to lose interest in the product produced by them. That means Marvel will have the superhero genre all to its own.

A Guide for Selecting the Ideal Assisted Living Facility

It is never easy parting with your loved one as they go to get help in assisted living facilities. The least you can do, to feel better about the situation is ensure that your loved one settles in a facility that they will be comfortable in. This is a list of things you need to check when making a selection.

Meals

The type of meals served is a must check. The best way to do this is have a meal at the facility. This way, you will have first-hand information on the quality of meals. Therefore, you will be more comfortable leaving your loved one there. Be sure to ask when meals are served and if residents are allowed to have their meals in privacy.

Freedom

The lack of freedom could lead to misery and even depression. When selecting an assisted living facility, it is important to ensure that they allow freedom of those living there. Members should be allowed to do most of what they did at the comfort of their home, with minimum supervision.

Homey Feel

Check the amenities and even furniture. Do they offer your loved one a homey feel or do they make them feel as if they are detained? Also, check the staff. Are they friendly? How well do they interact with members of the facility? Your loved one will be there a long time. Hence, it is paramount that they be around people who they are comfortable around.

Cleanliness

Ensure that the assisted living facility is optimally clean. A clean environment not only ensures that your loved one enjoys their stay. Rather, it also rids of health hazards. Therefore, be sure to ask about housekeeping frequency.

Looking for a facility with all these qualities and much more? The Manse on Marsh is the ideal place for you. It is owned by Chris Skiff and has been in operation for over 15 years now.

This award- winning facility has been providing top-notch assisted living in California Central Coast. The Manse on Marsh testimonials tell a tale of excellent service delivery. This makes The Manse on Marsh one of the best facilities to check in.  They have won major awards, and they continue to be one of the top facilities.  Just look at their 5 star reviews all over Yelp.

Lady Gaga to Act in Upcoming Film

In movie news, singer and actress Lady Gaga will be playing the lead role in the upcoming remake of the classic film “A Star is Born.” The original movie came out in 1937 and has been redone twice since then; the upcoming version will be directed by actor Bradley Cooper in his first major project as a director and produced by Warner Brothers. Clint Eastwood intended to direct the film, but his participation fell through, and Cooper, who was committed as an actor in the project, stepped up into the director’s chair.

Personally, I think this is great news and an excellent career move for Lady Gaga, who has played bit parts in a number of films but has never had a lead onscreen role. Because the film has done well before commercially, there is every reason to believe that it will again. Furthermore, Gaga will be writing songs for the film. If she can come up with some catchy numbers, they will give this reboot a contemporary feel and also showcase her considerable and proven musical talents.

While it can be argued that acting in a remake with a track record of success is playing it safe, I think it’s fine for Gaga to take this role. She’s always walked a fine line between mainstream and edgy, and her most recent musical offerings in particular have been a little too much on the alternative side of the artistic spectrum as far as I’m concerned. Gaga is still young and developing creatively, and I feel that this film is just what she needs to become highly accomplished as an actress. Her career has been in a bit of a lull in recent years, and hopefully this project will remedy this.

Many people who come to Panama also want to visit the Panama Canal. It is an amazing structure for Adrián José Velasquez Figueroa. It is even more impressive because it was built more than 100 years ago and is still being used today. It connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean so it is an important feature of the global economy. Without the Panama Canal ships would have to enter the arctic waters at the tip of South America to travel between oceans and their travel time would be extended by weeks. The Panama Canal allows them to move across the world quickly for a small fee. The canal is also very important the Panama’s economy and it generates 1/3rd of the nationals total annual revenue. That is because 14,000 ships go through it every year carrying precious cargo that can be taxed to help the Panamanian economy.

Images from It Released by the Director

Anticipation over the new version of Stephen King’s It has been building for quite some time. Illustrations of the new version of Pennywise were released and fans loved the imagery. Recently, director Andy Muschietti gave the public a look at storyboard art and production images. Fans are thrilled again. The countdown for the release of the remake is on and fans cannot wait.

The drawings and photos are a bit creepy. A vintage 1970’s-style missing poster for one of the characters definitely is scary. The film is not going to be lighthearted – although Pennywise can be darkly humorous at times – and the feature is going to wallow in the terror found in King’s original novel.

In the 1980’s, It was a huge bestseller. The success was no surprise since Stephen King was at the height of his popularity at the time. Adaptations of his works were a mixed bag. No one knew what to expect from the 1990 TV mini-series. Once the mini-series aired, the two-parter was heralded as a classic.

A remake was in development for years. The project was well on the path to production until disagreements between the studio and original director Cary Fukunaga led to It seemingly returning back to the development netherworld.

Andy Muschietti quickly landed the directing job as New Line Cinema did not want to see It languish. Muschietti seems to be relishing the job and wants to create the definitive film version of the novel. Creating a work that tops the 1990 version is a tall order, but Andy Muschietti is up for the challenge.

His enthusiasm is translated into fan enthusiasm, which may make the new It a hit.

Shane Black Wants To Reassemble The Monster Squad

In 1987, a fun little horror-comedy was released to box office indifference. The Monster Squad, a film borrowing its name from a forgotten live-action Saturday morning TV monster ensemble, hit theaters to capitalize on Universal monster nostalgia and the success of films like The Goonies. Unfortunately, Universal monster nostalgia had long since faded in the 1970’s. The Goonies was a hit, but did not spawn tons of similar hits. In time, however, The Monster Squad grew a cult following over the years. Screenwriter Shane Black is seriously – and openly – thinking about a sequel.

Black would gain massive fame as the screenwriter for Lethal Weapon and, later, as the director of Iron Man III. Currently, he is writing and directing the new entry in the Predator franchise and is keeping his options open for future projects. The 1980’s nostalgia craze makes reboots of older films attractive to studios. More impacting on The Monster Squad would be the new Universal shared universe of horror/action movies. The Mummy, The Wolfman, and The Bride of Frankenstein are all in future release pipeline. If these films are a hit, Black figures that a horror-comedy of the “Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein” variety would be successful, too. He may be right.

The Monster Squad would obviously have to be updated in a number of ways. Black has said he wants to produce a direct sequel and not a remake, but the odds are greater the film would be totally rebooted instead of being the second part of the first film.

Most young persons who would buy tickets for a new Monster Squad never heard of the original. A reboot would suit them better.

The Punisher May Be Coming To Netflix In 2017

The Punisher was not originally planned as a series for Netflix, but plans change. Jon Bernthal did such a fantastic job as the vigilante during season two of Daredevil, the fan response was overwhelmingly positive. Frank “The Punisher” Castle – and Bernthal – stole the show. The Hand and Elektra were nice additions to the second season, but The Punisher was the supporting character who drew the most attention.

Will The Punisher debut as soon as 2017?

Things are a bit complicated for the executives at Netflix. The company has made it very adamant that there will only be two Marvel series per year. Netflix did not want to water down its programming nor was there a desire to sacrifice quality. Currently, The Defenders and Luke Cage are planned for 2016 and Daredevil season three and Jessica Jones season two are slated for 2017. Adding The Punisher to 2017’s schedule would mean three programs in a single year. Maybe Netflix is rethinking things. The 2017 debut of The Punisher season one has not been confirmed, but a delay until 2018 or 2019 would be a bit much.

Most interestingly, Bernthal said “The Punisher” never appeared in Daredevil season two. Audiences only saw Frank Castle. At the end of the series, Frank Castle makes his first step towards becoming The Punisher. A full season dedicated to the character would show how Castle develops into The Punisher persona. Daredevil season one followed a similar, and critically acclaimed, melodramatic approach.

Another question being raised is whether or not The Punisher and other Netflix characters are going to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Audiences have some time to wait for the answer.
